Wikimedia Serbia and Wikipedia in Serbian
The course provides information about the activities of Wikimedia Serbia, the possibilities that Wikipedia offers and other Wiki-projects (Wiki-news, Wiki-dictionary, Wiki-books, Wiki-source, Wiki-citation, Wikimedia archive). The training of the participants of the course includes topics like: introducing the principles of editing articles, writing and translating texts, sources and copyright (detailed introduction of participants to the basic principle of Wikipedia: “Everything you write must be supported with sources”).
Wiki-librarian workshop
In addition to the theoretical part, a workshop that enables the participants to independently create and post on Wikipedia as rich, high-quality and informative content as possible is planned.
The workshop includes:
– posting new pages on Wikipedia about libraries and their cultural activities,
– posting new pages on any topic according to the interest of the participant,
– posting a gallery of pictures,
– posting bibliographic data that is of highest quality and as complete as possible on the chosen topic while respecting all copyrights (links to the complete contents of the texts, bibliographic data on printed and electronic sources of information, etc.).
Preparation for the seminar
It is necessary to open accounts on Wikipedia in Serbian. It is necessary to bring prepared texts in Word in order to immediately publish or supplement an article.
Duration of the course
The course lasts 2 days of 3 hours. Number of participants: from 8 to 12.
