Dear coleagues,

We woulld most affectionately invite you to contribute to the success of the International Scientific Conference ELECTRONIC LIBRARY with your presence.

The Conference will be held at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade (Serbia) from September 25th to 27th 2008.

We hope that with the organization of the previous six successful conferences we have earned your confidence as a deposit for the this year’s cooperation as well, and that the attraction, actuality, comprehensiveness and seriousness of the theme will attract your attention this year.

Whereas the electronic library, in its all segments (electronic cataloguization, statistics, e-books and periodicals, multimedial editions, teaching materials, information litteracy), are the demands of the contemporary age, we believe that we will with instigation of the discussions, where theoretical and empirical approach to this themes is present, too, as well as their ethical dimension, contribute to the quicker and more successful development of the librarianship, and ipso facto their larger positive impact on the scientific and pedagogical work in Serbia.

The didactic materials and informative resources which are offered by the electronic library are unavoidable segment of the modernized teaching; the data base of the  full texts and abstracts are paralel libraries to our university professors and scholars, while quotation indexes are accepted help in the evaluation of the scientific studies.

We would appreciate if you would send your themes, abstracts of your papers and short biographies to the Organizational Committee of the Conference till July, 31st 2008.

The organizers will not cover the costs of the transportation and lodging of the participants. The list of the hotels and the price list of the services  will be available on the site of the Association of Librarians of Serbia.

The cotization for the participation at the Conference is 100 euros and covers the costs of the excursion, cultural and artistic program and printed materials.
