Srbobran is a political newspaper published in Novi Sad from 1861 to 1867. Petar Ninković was the editor and publisher and Emil Čakra was co-author. It was published twice a week. Its content was conservative with many religious texts. At first it was financed by the Government in Belgrade. After that it was supported by the Government in Vienna which damaged its reputation. In addition to Serbian news, it published news on political life in Austria.
